Summer has returned, along with unseasonably high humidity. A boundary over the northern part of the state has been the focus for scattered showers and storms, with quieter conditions and only isolated showers farther south. The pattern will remain fairly stagnant until midweek.
A cold front will finally push south into the region late Wednesday, bringing the next opportunity for more widespread rain. Much cooler conditions will follow in the wake of the front by the end of the week. A few showers could return at the start of the weekend with a reinforcing shot of chilly air.
