Many of us love that first weekend of November when we gain that extra hour of wonderful sleep. This year that date is on November 3rd, when Daylight saving time ends.
On the flip side, Spring is right around the corner, but we are nearing the shortest weekend of the year time wise. Saturday will be a normal 24 hour day, but Sunday at 2am, here in Ohio (and much of the country) will “spring ahead” 1 hour.
Isn’t the shortest day of the year in December?
Yes and no. Shortest in “daylight” yes! That typically occurs in our part of the world at the start of Winter (about the 3rd week in December).
But on the calendar Sunday, March 10th will go down as a day that only contains 23 hours from start to finish. This is why I have been saying it is the shortest day of the year.
Sunrise/Sunset times for Saturday & Sunday:
- Saturday: 6:53am, 6:32pm
- Sunday: 7:52am, 7:33pm
