One thing everyone can agree on, it has been a very soggy start to the year. It has also been a very soggy start to the year. Also, it has been a very warm start to the year too!
Right now we are sitting at nearly 7″ for precipitation this year. That is melted snow and rainfall. Snowfall has accounted for 17.8″ so far this year, which is 5.7″ above normal.
Our total precipitation is running about 3.2″ above normal through February 13th. Also, we have not had much sunshine so far this year, with only 2 days being considered sunny or mostly sunny.
One of those two “nice” days occurred in early January (5th) when we hit 51 degrees, the other was the sunniest day on the 21st of January when the high was 14!!
For precipitation (rainfall + melted snow) we have had at least a trace of precipitation or more on 34 of 44 days so far this year. We have had measurable precip on 57% of our days. Also notice the heavier rainfall numbers on the right with 5 days getting 0.7″ or more!
So far we have had 24 of 44 days picking up flurries or more. If you only count measurable snowfall (0.1″ or more) we have had 16 of 44 days so far! An inch or more has fallen so far on 4 days, and all this snowfall has put us 5.7″ above normal for the year.
It has been a warmer than normal year so far too!
