COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus Blue Jackets Head Coach John Tortorella recently talked with NBC Sports about what’s next for his team after sweeping the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round of the playoffs.
“They feel good about themselves, and they should,” said Tortorella. “I liked the way we imposed our will as we won that first game and just took off from there. So, they should feel real good about how they played and the outcome. Having said that, We gotta make sure we temper that also as we get ready for the next series”
Tortorella says he is thrilled to have the fans in Columbus be part of a historic season for the franchise.
“I have been fortunate enough to talk to some fans. I’ve had people drive up to my house that I don’t even know and were emotional when they drove up and saying how great it is,” said Tortorella. “I’m thrilled for this city. It’s been such a great city as far as staying behind us through some hard times.”
