In an effort to draw new, younger fans to golf, the Memorial Tournament is trying something new this year.
The Memorial Tournament has partnered with the Bridge Park Development in Dublin to offer a new “Millennial Ticket” for fans in between the ages of 21 to 30. The One-Day Pass is $60, and it also includes free parking at Bridge Park, and a shuttle will take the younger patrons to and from the tournament. The new ticket option stemmed from the tournament’s ongoing effort to grow an interest in golf in younger fans.
“We’re focused on next generation at all times, so gaining new fans, and one of the ways to gain new fans is to capture the interest of 20-year-olds,” said Memorial Tournament Director Dan Sullivan.
The tournament has opened a new pop-up store at Bridge Park where fans can pick up their tickets and patrons can purchase tournament memorabilia and merchandise. They can also take advantage of all the bars and restaurants located within Bridge Park.
“It’s a nice opportunity to partner with a development and area of town that’s growing and thriving. Not only can we have folks come out here and enjoy a great day of golf and get everything they want to out of the golf, but right after they can go and enjoy dinner,” said Sullivan.
The Millennial Ticket also includes two free tokens that can be redeemed for food and beverages at the 19th Hole at the tournament or select bars and restaurants at Bridge Park.
“For fans, they have a great time watching a round of golf and what do they do afterwards, so we’re really excited to be part of the after experience and even making the total experience easier for the millennials and other folks too,” said Nelson Yoder, a principal at Crawford Hoying in Bridge Park.
The Millennial Ticket can be purchased online at www.thememorialtournament.com/millennial/ or fans can purchase them in-person at the pop-up store at Bridge Park. A valid photo ID is required to show proof of age.
