COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Ohio State’s transition from Urban Meyer to Ryan Day as head football coach was not entirely without bumps, and National Signing Day certainly reflected those occasional bumps for the Buckeyes. But OSU ended up landing its primary recruiting target for 2019.
Olentangy Orange’s Zach Harrison, the top-rated prospect in Ohio for 2019, announced his commitment to Ohio State Wednesday afternoon at Orange High School. It was a highly-secretive process with Harrison, who chose OSU over Michigan and Penn State. The announcement was made to a group of students and parents, as media members were asked not to attend. Harrison’s the highest-rated recruit to commit to Ohio State this year.
The Buckeyes also landed 13 other commitments as of 12:45pm Wednesday, including two other elite recruits, WR Garrett Wilson from Austin, TX and C Harry Miller from Georgia. Lexington LB Cade Stover, Mr. Football Ohio in 2018, also signed with OSU.
