Children talk Blue Jackets as they wait for picture with Stinger

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — What are some of your fondest memories you’ve had while attending a Columbus Blue Jackets game or other sporting events?

The Columbus Blue Jackets fanbase poured out to watch the team practice on Monday. Young fans waited in line to get their picture taken with the mascot “Stinger,” and they were excited that he remembered them. The conversations among children were of Stanley Cup dreams, and one adult told of a Christmas story that was completely short of a miracle on ice.

The mascot stood near the cannon at Nationwide Arena. Stinger waited patiently on fans who walked up to give a high-five, grab a hug, and pose for photographs. The aged ranged from nearly newborn to grandparents.

The line was never longer than 10 groups, and the wait was never more than three minutes long. This worked out for ants, uncles, parents, who tried to watch the match on the ice while the children paced, wiggled, and spun while they waited.
