The first step in making an Olympic bobsled or skeleton team is hitting the 500-point mark at the combine. Much like an NBA or NFL combine, USABS uses a series of drills to determine an athlete’s potential in the sport. Hundreds of athletes try out each year, but only about 20 make it to the next stage, even fewer make it to the national team and only the very best make it onto an Olympic squad.
