Women pepper-spray store employee during Yeti cooler heist

U.S. & World

Authorities in Indiana are searching for two women who stole Yeti coolers from an Indianapolis hardware store, and assaulted an employee who tried to stop them.

Security camera footage captures the women casually pulling four soft-shell yeti coolers from a display at Sullivan’s Hardware Friday morning.

When a cashier noticed the pair trying to leave the store without paying, she chased after them, but was later pepper sprayed in the parking lot.

She was treated by paramedics and sent home.

“I would love to have these ladies caught,” said owner Pat Sullivan. “It’s one thing of shoplifting. Assaulting another human being is beyond belief.”

Each of the coolers is valued around $250.
