Woman hits coal truck head-on while trying to pass school bus, WV deputies say

KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – A woman had a head-on crash with a coal truck while trying to pass a school bus, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say a woman was driving a rented Toyota Carolla west in the 1700 block of Campbell’s creek at around 7:45 AM on Tuesday, September 25th, 2018.

According to deputies, she was trying to overtake a school bus in front of her and drove left of center to pass the bus. Deputies say she then collided head-on with a coal truck.

The woman was taken to a local hospital and her car towed.

The driver of the coal truck did not need medical attention.
