Woman high on meth staged boyfriend’s suicide, cops say

U.S. & World

THONOTOSASSA, FL (WFLA) – Those who know Rebekah Dean say it’s no secret she and her boyfriend had a rocky relationship.

Neighbors claim Dean’s boyfriend recently found multiple text messages on her phone to another man.

Those who saw the couple daily say he was the jealous type and was always watching her every move in the mobile home they shared off North U.S. 301 Highway in Thonotosassa.

The couple also shared something else, say detectives.

An addiction to meth.

Investigators maintain it was addiction that would eventually drive Dean to murder.

“I was shocked when I heard about it, you know,” said Rosemary Lindenschmidt, who lives just a few feet away. The woman admits she never thought this would happen.

“I just couldn’t believe it,” she told WFLA.

The tumultuous times shared between Dean and her boyfriend, Thimothy Passmore, would lead to a scene Monday night, detectives say, was meant to look like a suicide.

Passmore’s body was found in the doorway with a gunshot wound.

But, when deputies investigated further, they tell us Dean admitted to being high on meth when she killed her boyfriend.

Based on forensics and inconsistencies with Dean’s statements during interviews and reenactments, detectives consulted with the State Attorney’s Office and charged Dean with manslaughter with a weapon.

Rebekah Dean is now behind bars at the Hillsborough County Jail.

The 25-year-old is facing manslaughter charges..
