WATCH: Beehive with more than 30,000 bees removed from Tampa home

U.S. & World

A Tampa man created quite a buzz this weekend when he finally got someone to remove a beehive that had been growing on the side of his home for several years.

News Channel 8 photographer Joseph Brown captured beekeeper Habib Bandadi hacking away at the massive nest, removing it piece by piece.

Bandadi estimates 30,000 to 40,000 bees were removed from the wall. The bees will not be exterminated, but will be saved and used to pollinate crops instead, he said.

The homeowner, Sid Rose said it took him seven years to get rid of the beehive and blamed the delay on procrastination.
