Walt Disney World gives update on new ‘Tron’ attraction coming to Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World Resort shared the first look at an upcoming “Tron” attraction to be added in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park on Monday.

According to the Disney Parks Blog, the new attraction will occupy a new area next to Space Mountain.

The ride is based on TRON Lightcycle Power Run at Shanghai Disneyland. 

The roller coaster-style ride allows guests to board a train of two-wheeled “Lightcycles” for a race through the digital frontier.

The blog reports a few modifications will be made to nearby attractions during construction.

The Walt Disney World Railroad will temporarily pausing its grand-circle tours of Magic Kingdom.

The blog reports that during this time, guests will able able to get an up-close look at the attraction.

The Tomorrowland Speedway will close for a portion of 2019 as the attraction’s track is adjusted.

The Speedway attraction will re-open in the summer of 2019.

The “Tron” attraction is set to debut in time for Disney World’s 50th anniversary in 2021.
