VIDEO: Woman leads police on high-speed car chase before attempting to flee carrying baby

U.S. & World

SAN ANTONIO, TX (NBC News) — Newly-released video shows a wild, high-speed police chase involving a mother and her baby.

It happened back in June near San Antonio.

Police say Caitlyn Rodriguez, 29, who had outstanding warrants, tried to elude police in her vehicle.

After running over a spiked strip, Rodriguez’s SUV crashes into the back of a stopped truck.

She gets out and opens up the back door, before pulling out a baby in a carseat.

Moments later, she runs across several lanes of traffic before trying to car jack another driver.

That’s when police move in and arrested her.

In addition to warrants, Rodriguez now faces charges of child endangerment, evading arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
