LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- Police arrested a California man after a neighbor's surveillance camera captured a violent argument with his girlfriend.
The 27-year-old man can be seen using his 18-month-old baby as a weapon, swinging him and hurling the child at her.
Riverside police now say the woman in the video was trying to hide from her boyfriend inside the gated community last week.
But when he found her, his temper flared.
"It takes your breath away. And then there's anger," said Det. Jerilynn Czobakowski with Riverside Police.
Czobakowski describing her reaction as a mother watching what happened to the 18 month old.
She says an officer investigating the video was so upset he went back to the Montecito Estates on his own to track down the suspect.
And he found him.
Techhoak Danny Lim was arrested for child endangerment with great bodily injury.
"He did admit and said he would probably be going to jail for what he did," said Czobakowski.
Police say the little boy is back with his biological mother, and that he only has cuts and bruises.
As for the family that turned over that video, many believe they stopped it from happening again.
Police are praising them for getting involved.
"You know, this person really is almost a hero for doing what he did," said Czobakowski.
Lim is free on a $50,000 bond.
