BOURNE, MA (WCMH) – A two-year-old girl lost a toe after she hit a crack in a slide at a Massachusetts playground.
It happened Tuesday at Buzzards Bay Splash Park in Bourne, WBZ reported.
Town Administrator Thomas Guerino says there is now an investigation underway to determine how it happened.
The brand new park just opened Memorial Day weekend. Guerino said the slide was on a ‘punch list’ of repairs needed.
“If engineers had told us to close it, it would have been closed,” said Guerino.
Parents who were at the park that day said there was some broken caution tape near the top of the slide, but nothing more to show that it shouldn’t be used.
The park is closed indefinitely while the investigation is underway.
