(WFLA/NBC) – A new study suggests your daily glass of wine may keep you out of the hospital.

Italian researchers studies 21,000 people over a six year period.

Those who drank moderately had a lower chance of being hospitalized compared to heavy drinkers.

The risk was also lower when compared to those who don’t drink alcohol.

The researchers say they are not advising people who abstain from alcohol to start drinking as a way to improve their health.
