An ice rink in the Spanish capital has been turned into a makeshift morgue to house the remains of patients who lost their lives in the new coronavirus pandemic.

The government on Sunday announced a new daily record in the number of deaths, with 838 fatalities registered in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of dead to 6,528.
