Small police department in Kentucky experiences baby boom

U.S. & World

ERLANGER, Ky. (KXAN) — Eight police officers in a small department in Kentucky are all getting a little less sleep this year after they all welcomed babies around the same time.

The Erlanger Police Department took a photo of the new parents posing with their bundles of joy — all under a year old.

“We are all like, ‘Oh, I am having a kid,’ then we are like ‘so am I, so am I.’ A couple months later, ‘so am I.’ Then you start looking at it and say schedule is going to be an issue,” Officer Ryan Atchley said.

The picture was in response to a photo of a fire department in Oklahoma that had a similar baby boom of its own. Erlanger police officers had an even split of four boys and four girls in the new baby bunch.
