WASHINGTON (WCMH) — Sources on Capitol Hill tell Politico house conservatives are preparing to file documents to impeach Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

According to Politico, Ohio representative Jim Jordan is spearheading the effort with Mark Meadows of North Carolina. Both are members of the House Freedom Caucus, which Jordan founded. They could file the impeachment document as soon as Monday as they look to build support in the House.

Rosenstein announced Friday that 12 Russian intelligence officers have been indicted for interfering in the 2016 election. He has overseen the probe into possible Russian interference in the election.

Conservative lawmakers have been plotting to remove Rosenstein for weeks, according to Politico.
