MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WCMH/CNN) — A Wisconsin man is facing a reckless homicide charge after police say he admitted to punching a two-month-old baby to death.
Investigators twll WTMJ it sll started when Kenta Evans and the baby’s mother got into an argument.
According to a criminal complaint, it happened on June 5 when Evans went to see the baby and the infant’s mother. Once inside, investigators said Evans became angry, accusing the mother of ‘having other men in the home.’ He even took her phone and smashed it against the wall, police said.
During the argument, police said she picked up the baby and asked Evans to leave.
According to court documents, that’s when Evans started punching the mother ‘repeatedly with a closed fist’ while she continued to hold the baby.
A family member noticed the baby was bleeding from the mouth, had multiple knots on his head and was barely breathing. He was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
Evans is due back in court on June 20. Bail was set at $200,000.
