SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – Police have arrested the father of a 1-year-old boy who died Friday in Spartanburg.

According to the coroner’s office, the child, King Trammel, died from heat-releated issues.

Spartanburg Police say the child was left unattended inside a car with the windows closed and the engine turned off for at least an hour.

Once the father discovered the child was not inside the home, he searched and found him unresponsive inside the vehicle, according to police.

22-year-old Aaron Tazhon Trammel is charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and Unlawful Neglect of a Child.

Trammel was arrested Saturday evening.

The child reportedly lived at a home on Oakview Drive in Spartanburg.

SLED assisted in the investigation.
