LAWRENCEBURG, KY (WEHT) – A Kentucky man accused of making a credible threat to multiple school districts has been arrested.
Kentucky State Police said a complaint was received on Wednesday of an Anderson County man threatening a woman who lived in New Jersey.
While investigating, troopers said they found evidence of an imminent threat to Shelby and Anderson County schools. During their investigation, KSP arrested 20-year-old Dylan Jarrell.
Police said they found a firearm, over two hundred rounds of ammunition, a Kevlar vest, a 100-round high capacity magazine, and a detailed plan of attack in Jarrell’s possession.
As KSP confirmed the threat to the schools, they notified officials at both districts and worked with administrators to determine a plan of action.
KSP said Jarrell was previously questioned by the FBI in May over social media threats to a school in Tennessee.
Jarrell has been charged with two counts of 2nd-degree terroristic threatening and one count of harassing communications.
He is being held in the Shelby County Detention Center.
