GLENDALE, AZ (WCMH) — A photograph of a little girl surrounded by hundreds of in vitro fertilization needles is giving other families hope as it goes viral.
A photo shared to Instagram by Packer Family Photography shows hundreds of IVF needles shaped into a heart and surrounding a baby.
The caption on the photo reads, “4 years, 7 attempts, 3 miscarriages and 1,616 shots.”
“When I saw it laid out, I just thought, ‘That was hard for me.’ I just saw all my emotions kind of there for the past four years, and you kind of put your body through havoc, essentially,” Patricia, the child’s mother told KPNX.
Couple Patricia and Kimberly said the photo represents a tough four-year journey for the two.
“I think kind of overcoming and waiting four years makes it that much greater,” Kimberly said.
Photographer Samantha Drake Packer told KPNX when the family mentioned their idea to use the needles in the picture, she decided to shape them in a heart.
But what she didn’t realize was how many needles they had.
“It was just like, got done with one layer, and then I needed another layer, and another layer, another layer,” Packer said.
Packer eventually ran out of time to execute the full extent of her idea, but she was able to capture the now viral photo of baby London that is giving other families hope.
