LONG BEACH, CA (WCMH) – Police in California are investigating a distressing cell phone video that shows a man dragging an unconscious man off a train and leaving him on the platform.
It apparently happened because the man didn’t want to be late getting home.
It happened at the Wardlow Metro station in Long Beach, California, KCAL reported.
The video shows a man in a suit dragging a half-naked man from a train onto the platform. He pulls the man’s pants up before returning to the train to grab some items to bring outside.
The man in the suit then gets back on the train. The person recording has some words for him.
“Dude just had a seizure this this white boy is gonna drag him off the damn train so he don’t miss his ride,” the man recording said.
For several minutes, the man on the platform doesn’t move. The man in the suit then tries to explain himself.
“There are a lot of people on this train that want to get home,” the man in the suit said.
Paramedics confirmed they responded to the Metro station after a 911 call about a man having a seizure. The man was taken to the hospital.
The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority released a statement on the incident:
“Obviously, this is very disturbing and we never want to see this on our system,” the statement read. “We’re getting all the facts including reviewing the video from the train and the platform, and we’ll share more details when they’re available. If someone is in distress, we encourage people to call 9-1-1 for medical assistance.”
Detectives from the Long Beach Police Department are reviewing the video to determine if a crime occurred.
