An NFL star said he will donate his playoff paycheck this week to the family of 7-year-old Jazmine Barnes, who was killed when a suspect pulled alongside the vehicle the girl was riding in with her family and opened fire.
Houston Texans’ DeAndre Hopkins said on Facebook he wanted to donate the money to help Jazmine’s family pay for funeral costs and get justice for the young girl.
Hopkins said when he looked at Jazmine’s face he could see his own daughter.
Authorities in Texas early Sunday charged 20-year-old Eric Black Jr. with capital murder in the death of Jazmine. Investigators identified Black as a suspect after receiving a tip, the office said in a statement.
