Netflix to develop series, movies based on “The Chronicles of Narnia”

LOS GATOS, CA (WCMH) — Netflix has announced it will be developing movies and a series based on C.S. Lewis novels, “The Chronicles of Narnia.”

According to the Chronicles of Narnia official Facebook page, Netflix and the C.S. Lewis Company signed a multi-year deal to develop several stories from across the Narnia universe. 

“C.S. Lewis’ beloved Chronicles of Narnia stories have resonated with generations of readers around the world,” said Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer, Netflix. “Families have fallen in love with characters like Aslan and the entire world of Narnia, and we’re thrilled to be their home for years to come.”

This is the first time all seven books in the series have been held by the same company, according to the Facebook page. 

No time table for the release of the movies or series was released.
