Mild winter means scorpions are invading Las Vegas

U.S. & World

LAS VEGAS, NV (KSNV) Creepy crawlers are invading homes in Nevada.

Residents living in a neighborhood near Las Vegas say they’re seeing an increase in the number of scorpions in their yards and even inside their homes.

“I sat down on the couch and one bit me on the leg and my face swelled up and I ended up in the emergency room,” says Patricia Mogg.

According to Global Pest Services, the Las Vegas area will continue to see a spike in scorpions.

Because of the mild winter in Las Vegas, there wasn’t a hard freeze to kill the scorpions off.

Residents are being encouraged to take preventative measures.
