A thief stole an SUV with three young children inside in Brooklyn Friday night.
Police have since recovered the SUV and the children, who appeared to be unharmed.
The suspect is still at large, police say.
Investigators say the parents got out of the car to go into a beauty supply store and left the car running. When a man walking by got into the driver’s seat and drove off.
He abandoned the car two minutes later, about seven blocks away.
The two girls inside ages one and eight and a two-year-old boy appeared to be unharmed, but the suspect is still at large.
