Man accused of huffing spray paint, beating mother with a heavy-duty spatula

A West Virginia man who police say beat his mother with a spatula after huffing paint is facing a malicious wounding charge.

The St. Albans Police Department say they were dispatched on Thursday, September 13th, 2018, at around 10:45 PM to a domestic incident with injuries.

Dispatchers say a woman told them she was hit in the head with a heavy duty spatula by her son and was bleeding badly

Police found Glenn Casdorph, 30, sitting on a bench in the front yard. Casdorph had a large amount of silver spray paint on his face and hands and had a large steel bar in his hands.

St. Albans Police say they had numerous work-related encounters with Casdorph and were aware he frequently huffs spray paint.

The woman was transported to the hospital. Her condition is unknown but she was alert with medics.

Casdorph was transported to the South Central Regional Jail. If convicted, he could face up to ten years in prison.
