A stripper from Lakeland is facing charges after police say she threatened a mass shooting online.

Lakeland police say they started investigating 31-year-old Brein Basarich last week after she made suspicious statements about committing mass shootings online. An arrest affidavit says she posted them on the blogging site Tumblr under the username “taking-lives.”

Police say one of the posts read, “I had a vision…of a very public place, only one way in and one way out. Preferably a bar/club on a busy night. 2019 has a lot in store in my plans go according!”

When another user asked Basarich if she had homicide urges, police say she answered, “I feel at times a lot of us have urges, whether they will admit or not is the question. So yes, I have.”

The arrest affidavit states she also posted that she was “getting an AR soonish” and that it would be her first gun but she planned to get others.

When asked about the posts, police say Basarich admitted she wrote them and said she is a “fan of serial killers and mass murderers.”

Basarich was charged with written threats to kill or injure. Polk County jail records show she was released from jail on $5,000 bond.
