LAND O’ LAKES, FL (WFLA) – A Florida inmate was arrested again on Friday, accused in a murder-for-hire plot.

Detectives said Billy Warren Pierce Jr. tried to hire another inmate to kill the victim and witnesses in his 2017 case of sexual battery on a child under 9 years of age.

The inmate at the Land O’ Lakes Detention Center told deputies that Pierce wanted him to kill five people from his criminal case. The inmate said he believed he could because he was a member of the Aryan Brotherhood.

Pierce promised to pay the man $9,000 to kill the victim and the family living in the same house, and told him how to pull it off, the inmate said.

One conversation talking about the murders was captured on an audio recording, detectives said.

Detectives went to the jail to talk with Pierce who said he only asked the victim to not show up to court.

But when the detective told him he was under arrest for solicitation to commit murder, Pierce said, “But I haven’t paid him any money yet.”
