SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) – California Democrats are not happy with In-N-Out after learning that the popular burger chain donated money to the California Republican Party.
According to a public filing on the Secretary of State’s website, In-N-Out donated $25,000 to the party.
Many outraged customers took to Twitter to say they will no longer be giving their business to the burger joint.
This led to the hashtag #BoycottInNOut, which was even used by California Democratic Party chairman Eric Bauman:
Et tu In-N-Out? Tens of thousands of dollars donated to the California Republican Party… it’s time to #BoycottInNOut – let Trump and his cronies support these creeps… perhaps animal style!https://t.co/9zkdFaG5CJ— EricBauman (@EricBauman) August 30, 2018
I hate that In-N-Out has probably donated to the Republican Party before now and I gave them my business. They are my #1 favorite. No more, though. #BoycottInNOut— Mother Resister 🗽⚖️✊🏻 (@MotherResister) August 30, 2018
@innoutburger Your donation to the GOP seems to fly in the face of everything you stand for, including fair wages and inclusiveness. The GOP doesn’t care about either. Why would support a party with such a divisive agenda? #InNOut #BoycottInNOut— Jamie (@scoobyduder) August 30, 2018
Fully aware… this is a free country, therefore, make your silent contributions to the GOP, and I will NO LONGER eat your food. #BoycottInNOut pic.twitter.com/TisUjR1mSn— Patricia Monterrosa (@pmonte1288) August 30, 2018
