Horses pull truck stuck on icy driveway

U.S. & World

CANTON, MN (WCMH) – A pair of strong horses were able to pull a stuck semi-truck up an icy driveway in Minnesota last week.

This large truck became stuck at the home of a Canton, Minnesota couple on December 5.

Jacob and Lizzie Hershberger own a pair of 13-year-old Belgian draft horses named Molly and Prince, so they hooked them up to the truck.

Jacob used a spare tire in the linkage between the horses and the truck, which allowed them to take a step before feeling the truck’s full weight. After a few heaves, the horses were able to stammer forward. As the truck started moving, a tractor was able to push the truck from behind to finish the job.

The Hershbergers said their horses often work around the couple’s ranch hauling logs. This time of year, they’ve even been hired to pull a few sleighs.
