Girl stops and says Pledge of Allegiance every time she sees flag

U.S. & World

A North Carolina girl is always on the lookout for American flags, so she can stop and say the Pledge of Allegiance.

When five-year-old Kinsley Weaver gets in the car with her dad, she is constantly looking out the window. When she sees the American flag, she honors it. She says the Pledge of Allegiance every single time, WRAL reported.

Kinsley’s parents say she learned to show respect for the flag at preschool. A video they recorded at a mall is proof she stops no matter what is going on.

“It made me very proud that she was focusing on that, and that’s what mattered to her, was her being able to stop and say the pledge of allegiance,” said Lindsay Weaver, Kinsley’s mother.

“I’ve seen her stop if she sees the flag on TV and put her hand over her heart and say the pledge of allegiance,” said Kinsley’s father, Jonathan Weaver.

Her parents say their daughter’s devotion has opened their eyes and their minds.

“She starts to ask questions and it gives us an opportunity to explain to her what the flag represents and why we believe we should honor it and show it respect,” said Jonathan.
