Mike Ditka, the former NFL coach who led the Chicago Bears to a Super Bowl championship in January 1986, was hospitalized in Florida earlier this week after suffering a heart attack, according to reports.
Ditka, 79, was still in the hospital as of Friday but was reportedly doing well, according to reports. He is expected to be released from the hospital in several days, according to the Chicago Tribune.
This would be Ditka’s second heart attack. He suffered a heart attack at age 49 while coaching the Bears in 1988.
