The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office says a man drowned Monday after his wheelchair fell into a pool at his home in Palm Harbor.

Paramedics responded to a drowning call in the 3800 block of Berkshire Court and attempted multiple life-saving efforts before 68-year-old Terry Chambers was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chambers is said to have fallen into the pool while using his wheelchair.  His wife and caretaker were present but unable to rescue him from the pool, deputies said.

Investigators say the incident does not appear to be suspicious in nature.

Further information was not immediately available.
