(WCMH) — Investigators in North Carolina are searching for the suspect who shot a family dog nearly 100 times with a BB gun.
Edith Pritchard is Brownie’s mom. He is a Jack Russell mix that was born at Pritchard’s home seven years ago. She lives in a tight-knit community, so Brownie usually runs around outside then runs back home.
One day, Brownie didn’t come back.
“They found brownie in a ditch and it was covered in snow she couldn’t move,” said Pritchard.
Brownie was reconnected with Pritchard, but then the real bad news started.
“She said Edith, I don’t think she can see. Well what happened to her eyes?” said Pritchard.
A vet said Brownie was shot in the eyes.
“This dog was tied and shot at close range with a BB gun over 100 times. I couldn’t believe that anybody could put that many small bullets in a dog,” said Pritchard. “To me this is torture. This was torture to a defenseless beautiful little animal hurt no one.”
Nobody is in custody for doing this to Brownie. The Burke County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
“I would want to know why they were so evil. That they could do an animal like this,” said Pritchard.
