GLASGOW, KY (NBC News) A dog in Kentucky is being nursed back to health after being left in a garbage bag.
A woman in Glasgow, Kentucky was walking her dog when she stumbled upon the bag and dog. At first glance, she thought the animal was a small deer.
The woman called authorities, and soon the dog was taken to the Barren River Animal Welfare Association. The shelter manager says he appears in bad health, but after a day, they are seeing positive change.
“Now seeing him today, he’s up, he is wagging his tail. He’s happy, he seems very secure that he’s been found and somebody’s going to care for him,” said shelter manager Connie Greer.
A veterinarian at the shelter said he likely has mange and a yeast infection.
