COLUMBUS (WCMH) — An 18-year-old accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend’s father late last year has been indicted on one count of murder and one count of felonious assault.

Franklin Co. Prosecutor Ron O’Brien says Jordyn Preston pulled out a handgun and shot Van Johnson, 54, as Johnson was arguing with his daughter Elyzabeth on Dec. 10, 2017.  Elyzabeth was also injured.

Van Johnson died from his injuries at Riverside Hospital. Investigators say Preston and Elyzabeth Johnson were involved in a relationship at the time of the shooting.
