Burns from fitness trackers prompt recall of about 30,000 gadgets

U.S. & World

Provata Health voluntarily recalled 30,000 fitness trackers following reports following 13 reports that the device was overheating while charging or being used.

In three of these reports, users suffered burns to their wrists, according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The digital wellness company said the Bluetooth trackers are black, blue or green, according to a report by CNN.

The devices were given away during a promotion between August 2017 and July 2018.

Users of these fitness trackers are advised to immediately stop wearing and charging them.

Provata Health has offered to replace them for free.
