(WFLA/CNN) – It’s the Dom Perignon of whisky… a bottle worth sipping with an auction price of more than $1 million.
The bottle of Macallan 60-year was distilled in 1926.
The spirits aged… and aged… and aged through the Great Depression, World War II and the entirety of the Cold War.
The scotch whisky was bottled in 1986 and sold in 1994 for $27,000.
After more than two decades, it was sold again.
The private collector paid $1.1 million for it.
According to Forbes, that price makes it the most expensive standard bottle of whisky to sell at an auction.
It’s one of 12 bottles signed by artist Valerio Adami.
