A black bear that was pursued by police in Arlington, Massachusetts for two hours climbed 30 feet up a tree in the backyard of a home Friday morning and is now surrounded by police and environmental officers who are assisting in getting the animal down, according to police and media reports in Boston.
Police say a tranquilizer has been administered to the bear and officials are waiting for the effects of medication.
Police are warning residents to avoid the area.
