Barack and Michelle Obama sign deal to produce films for Netflix

LOS GATOS, CA (WCMH) — Netflix has announced a deal with former president and first lady Barack and Michelle Obama to produce films for the streaming service. 

Netflix made the announcement, Monday, on Twitter. 

“President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama have entered into a multi-year agreement to produce films and series for Netflix, potentially including scripted series, unscripted series, docu-series, documentaries, and features,” the tweet read. 

Netflix chief executive Ted Sarandos said that the Obamas are uniquely position to discover and highlight stories of people who make a difference in their communities.

Barack Obama recently appeared as a guest on David Letterman’s Netflix talk show.
