Police say five minors are charged with criminal homicide — in the deadly shooting of a Nashville musician.
The suspects, ranging in age from 12 to 16, stand accused in the death of 24-year-old Kyle Yorlets — a member of the band “Carverton.”
police say the suspects were in a stolen pickup truck in an alley behind Yorlets home Thursday — when they robbed him of his wallet.
Investigators believe Yorlets was shot when he refused to hand over the keys to his vehicle.
Yorlets managed to make it back inside his home and was later found by a housemate.
He was rushed to a hospital, but did not survive.
Authorities say the suspects used a second stolen vehicle to drive to a Walmart, where authorities arrested them.
A loaded 9 millimeter pistol that was reported stolen was found with them.
Police say a second loaded and stolen pistol was located inside the Walmart as well.
