A new $19 million, multitasking supercomputer that tries to mimic the human brain was switch on Friday.

The Spin-Naker computer can send billions of small pieces of information to different destinations simultaneously.

Scientists believe it can one day make existing technology better.

For instance, they say it can help virtual assistants like Apple’s Siri and Amazon’s Alexa learn ‘on the job.’

They can adapt to the user’s habits and requirements.

Before you point to Skynet and the Terminator series as a warner, scientists note this computer cannot outsmart a human

Scientists say even with its one million processors, the computer barely approaches one percent of the scale of the human brain.
