CENTRAL OHIO (WCMH) — National Margarita Day is this weekend, and there’s no better way to celebrate than with the finest margaritas from central Ohio restaurants and bars.
I asked NBC4 viewers where to find the best margaritas in central Ohio, and here’s what they said:
Located in Gahanna, Mi Tradicion takes the top spot for NBC4 viewers when it comes to margaritas. This eatery serves both authentic Mexican cuisine and drinks as well as unique favorites. Viewers recommend the Don Julio pomegranate margarita.
A must-try for anyone who loves a twist on Tex-Mex, Local Cantina is also a great place to get a margarita. Viewers love the Mustache Ride, made with Olmeca Altos Reposado, Grand Marnier, lime and agave.
This family-owned restaurant combines the flare of a Mexican restaurant with the charm of small-town Granville. They even have a bed and breakfast located above the restaurant! Viewers recommend the cucumber margarita.
If you love frozen margaritas, La Fogata is the place for you. Located in Pickerington, this restaurant is known for its delicious food, fast and friendly service, and of course, amazing margaritas. Try the JD Special.
I was just as surprised as you probably are that an Italian eatery made the list of top spots to get a margarita, but NBC4 viewers swear Harvest Pizzeria has some of the best margs around and I do not disagree. Get the Harvest Margarita (Sauza tequila, Cointreau, house hibiscus and habanero sour).
With influences from Native American and Latino cultures, Chile Verde is a must-visit for those who love New Mexican cuisine. They are even offering special pricing for their wonderful house margaritas all day Friday ($5 per drink or $15 per pitcher) in honor of National Margarita Day.
Lunada Mexican Grill & Cantina
Lunada has been serving some of the best Mexican food in the Hilliard area since 2011, and their margaritas are no exception. While you can’t go wrong with a classic house margarita on the rocks, NBC4 viewers recommend the fresh-squeezed margarita (fresh-squeezed lime juice, orange juice, tequila and a splash of agave nectar).
Located in Lithopolis, the family behind this eatery boasts generations in the restaurant business and advertises their margaritas as “the best north of the border.” While I can’t speak for the entire country, they certainly have some of the best in central Ohio. Try the sangria margarita.
Cuco’s Taqueria is hands-down a Columbus favorite for both amazing burritos and awesome margaritas. The restaurant started off as a Mexican grocery store with a small counter and has evolved into one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Columbus area. If you’re looking to try a margarita on the sweeter side of things, try the prickly pear margarita.
If you want to experience all the glamour of a rooftop lounge while you’re enjoying your cocktail without having to trek downtown, check out VASO. Located in Dublin’s Bridgepark, this swanky establishment features an extensive menu of handcrafted cocktails. Viewers love the Spicy Senorita (Espolon Tequila, Mezcal, apple cider, lime and chili syrup).
