Happy Taco Tuesday!
Whether you’re a soft taco person or prefer a crunchy corn shell, Columbus has a ton of great spots to chow down on some tacos. I asked NBC4 viewers what their favorite locally owned restaurant or food truck to get their taco fix was, and I found out they take their tacos very, very seriously. Here are the 10 best places to get tacos in the Columbus metro area, according to NBC4 viewers.
Los Guachos Taqueria
Where: 5221 Godown Road, Columbus
1376 Cherry Bottom Road, Gahanna
It’s no surprise Los Guachos took the number one spot for NBC4 viewers. Their signature Taco Al Pastor (two corn tortillas topped with pork, sliced pineapple, onions and cilantro) has been recognized nationally by the Food Network and Rachael Ray Every Day magazine. Plus, one order will only set you back $2 (but trust us, you’ll be coming back for more!).
Where: 4640 Cleveland Ave., Columbus
If you love taco trucks, you’ll want to put Taqueria Jalisco on your list of trucks to try. The family owned and operated truck has great customer service and some of the most authentic tacos around (one viewer said it reminds her of Mexico every time she goes there.) Their seasoning and sauces are always on point, and at $1.50 per order, it’s at the perfect price point.
Where: 4626 W. Broad St., Columbus
Newcomer Mi Riconcito is already developing a dedicated following in Columbus. The owners came to central Ohio from Oaxaca, Mexico and owning their own restaurant has always been a dream for the couple. After running another taco restaurant for a year, they opened the doors to Mi Riconcito in 2018. Their best-selling tacos are tripe, carnitas, and barbacoa. Everything on the menu is handmade and cooked in the restaurant’s kitchen, owner Diana Reyes says.
Where: 1275 Brown Road, Columbus
El Ranchito is known for serving fast, fresh, authentic Mexican food for a great price. Their generous portion sizes will fill you up, but you’ll still want to come back for more. Customers love the steak tacos supreme (corn torilla with steak, cheese, lettuce, sour cream, tomatoes, cilantro and onion).
Where: 1227 N. High St., Columbus
132 S. High St., Columbus
4077 Fenlon Street, Columbus
2977 N. High St., Columbus
Condado has been serving bild-your-own tacos in Columbus since 2014, and has grown from their first restaurant on High Street to six locations (five in Ohio and one in Pennsylvania). Condado stands out because the customer can choose everything they want in their taco, right down to the shell. The tacos are between $3.50 to $4.50 a piece, putting them on the more expensive side, but the level of customization available is totally worth it.
Where: 721 Georgesville Road, Columbus
Truly a hidden gem on the west side, La Super Torta is likely the best authentic Mexican restaurant you’ve never heard of. The restaurant started off as a taco truck before opening the restaurant in an unassuming strip mall. Their fast and friendly service combined with outstanding tacos makes them a must-try for any taco aficionado. Customers rave about the chorizo tacos.
Where: 2448 Home Acre Drive, Columbus
Taqueria Guadalajara is one of one of northeast Columbus’ best-kept secrets. Without any fancy hipster drinks or gimmicky theme, this restaurant delivers with delicious, authentic tacos. If you’re a fan of fish tacos, you definitely need to try them at Taqueria Guadalajara. If you’re feeling adventurous, try the Lengua (beef tongue) tacos.

If you prefer more Americanized tacos, this Columbus institution is the perfect place for you. Customers love the Chorizo and Egg tacos (chorizo, scrambled egg, salsa, pickled onion and cilantro for $3.50). They also run a Taco Tuesday special every week, with tacos for just $2 for dine-in customers all day.
Where: 1355 Bethel Road, Columbus
La Casita has been serving the Columbus area for more than a decade, and in recent years, their menu offering has expanded almost exponentially. If you’re not looking to spend time sifting through the hefty menu, the street-style tacos never disappoint, and they’ve added a 3-taco dinner platter, which pairs perfectly with their famous margaritas. Viewers love the Tacos Al Pastor and the carnitas tacos.
Where: 5467 Bethel Sawmill Center, Columbus
It’s easy to see where Taco Loco gets its name, despite having a fairly standard storefront: their tacos are crazy good! The service is excellent and the food is always fresh. Customers rave about the Tacos Al Pastor (tender grilled and marinated pork with pineapple) and the Tacos De Birria (shredded beef with special red sauce and topped with fresh cilantro, onions and lime juice).
