Suspect dressed as UPS driver robs home


HOUSTON, TX (WCMH) — Police are searching for the man who dressed up as a UPS driver and robbed a homeowner the day before Thanksgiving.

“He grabbed a 45 and sticks it in my face,” victim Lawrence Berry told KTRK.

It was the day before Thanksgiving when Berry answered the knock at his door to see, what he thought was a UPS driver standing there with a box.

The man told Berry he needed a signature for the delivery. When Berry opened the door, the man stuck a gun in his face.

“Thank god my wife that the presence of mind to grab the kids and hide in closet,” Berry said.

Berry grabbed the suspect’s gun, but then another suspect also arrived with a gun. Both men overpower Berry and began beating him.

The suspects eventually made off with guns and jewelry. Berry, meanwhile suffered several injuries from the ordeal. “…lost 6 teeth. There’s a shard that broke out of my jaw line. They took 28 staples out of my skull yesterday and then my lip was split all the way to my nose, and concussion of course. And just severe head trauma,” he told KTRK.

Police continue to search for the suspects, and are investigating how the suspect came about a UPS jacket.
