Woman, 61, suffers broken neck after struck by a motorized cart at Walmart

A 61-year-old woman suffered a broken neck and other injuries after she was allegedly knocked over by an older woman on a motorized cart inside of a restaurant in Walmart in Lorain, according to the Morning Journal.

The woman’s son told police at 3:54 p.m. on Nov. 15 that his mother was knocked over while she was in line at the Subway in Walmart, 4380 Leavitt Road, according to a Lorain police report. The suspect left the scene.

The collision reportedly caused the woman to fall and hit her head, the report said.

The woman was transported from the scene by LifeCare to Mercy Health Lorain.

She was later transported to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland with a broken neck bone, backbone and other small injuries, the report said.

Police are investigating the case.
